ILLOGICAL LAW

ILLOGICAL LAW: Display of weapons has been banned by the Sindh government, but you still see armed private guards all over the place in Karachi. I once saw a feudal lord’s son being escorted by armed guards while entering a popular pharmacy in Khadda Market. I told the guard that display of weapons was not allowed.

He asked me how he would save his master if he left his weapon in the vehicle. I also see armed guards in front of big stores, shops and bungalows. I wonder how they can hide their weapons. They all have the same logical argument. This law of not displaying the weapons can only be implemented in a peaceful country where police take the responsibility for law and order and provide guarantee of security to citizens.

HARMFUL MILK: Milk is full of nutrients and is one of the main sources of calcium. But the availability of pure milk has become impossible in Sibi. There was a time when milkmen used to mix water to increase the quantity of milk and earn more profit. Now, all sorts of chemicals are being mixed in it to maintain its viscosity, colour and smell. Making more money even at the cost of the health of the consumers is all that milk-sellers are concerned about. Children and the elderly are suffering due to the unavailability of pure milk in Sibi. Their bones and teeth have weakened because of lack of calcium. According to doctors, this impure milk can cause various diseases. The government must stop the supply of harmful milk in Sibi to save people’s health and life.

TRANSPORTATION FEE: Many students travel 35-40 kilometres every day to get to Turbat University, which is a renowned seat of higher learning in Balochistan. Recently, the administration has increased the transportation fee by 80 per cent, forcing every student to pay Rs5,000 which is not affordable by many. The mater should be revisited.
