KARACHI: Two suspected thieves were on Saturday killed in the Azizabad area on Saturday, police said.

Area SHO Kamran Haider said that the suspects smashed the windowpanes of a parked car and were stealing its panel when area people spotted them near ‘Mor Park in Federal B Area Block 8.

The people gathered there but the suspects attempted to escape on their motorbike and the enraged mob chased them by foot.

During this chaos, someone from the public pulled out his pistol and opened fire on them from behind, the SHO said, adding that both the suspects suffered bullet wounds and fell from the motorbike. They were taken to a hospital where doctors pronounced them dead on arrival.

The police said that it was not known as to who opened fire.

The deceased were identified as Tor Khan, 35, and Khudai Noor, 30. The bodies were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Theft of valuable car panels, side mirrors and batteries becomes a routine crime in many parts of the city, particularly Federal B Area, and most victims complained that the police do not even consider it a crime when they go to lodge an FIR.
