SWABI: Two persons were killed and one was injured when rival groups traded heavy fire in Sheikh Jana village of Razaar tehsil here on Wednesday, the police said.

Kalu Khan police station SHO Haroon Khan said the rivalry had erupted over a property dispute. He said members of Abdul Manan group attacked those of Nauman Khan group at the latter’s hujra. Later, an exchange of fire ensued, in which Abdul Manan and Nauman Khan were killed on the spot, while Hazrat Ali from Manan group was seriously injured.

Both the groups have got registered cross FIRs, SHO Haroon said.

Meanwhile, in Gadoon Amazai Industrial Estate, a man identified as Mohammad Ayub was shot at and critically injured.

The injured was taken to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.

Before succumbing to injuries at the hospital, Ayub said Danish Khan, belonging to Baja village, opened fire on him after a verbal brawl over a trivial issue

Separately, assistant commissioner, Chota Lahor, Fatima and her driver were injured when the car they were travelling in collided with a truck.

They were rushed to local hospital, where her driver was stated to be in critical condition.

Also on Wednesday, two persons were seriously injured in a firing incident occurred at the Swabi Interchange on the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway on Wednesday, Rescue 1122 officials said.

A rescue team reached the spot, and provided first aid to the injured persons and later shifted them to Bacha Khan Medical Complex, Shahmansoor.
