NAROWAL: Two brothers were killed by their opponents in Sialkot on Thursday.

The family members protested against the ‘inappropriate’ behaviour of the police by placing the bodies on the road.

In the Kotli Loharan police area of Dhapai, opponents shot at and killed 14-year-old Fahad Zahid and 12-year-old Ahad Zahid and fled.

The Kotli Loharan police registered an FIR against Zeeshan Ali, Usman Ali, Asif Ali and Muhammad Hassan on the complaint of Tariq Hussain.

The family of the deceased said the police had ignored their frequent requests for action against the suspects.

One of the protesters, Waris, said if the police had not shown negligence, the opponents would not be able to kill the brothers.

Protesters blocked the two-way traffic due to which long queues of vehicles were seen on the Head Marala Road. Protesters refused to negotiate with the Kotli Loharan station house officer and the DSP and demanded that the district police officer ensure the immediate arrest of the killers.

According to Khurram Shehzad, spokesperson for the district police officer, two persons were killed as a result of firing between two parties due to long-standing enmity. He said the police registered an FIR against the suspects and arrested a suspect, while the raids were about to arrest other suspects.

The spokesman said raiding teams had been formed under the leadership of the investigation SP.
