ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Medical and Dental College (IMDC) on Thursday organised a convocation for its medical, dental, nursing and allied health sciences pass-outs.

Hundreds of bachelor of medicine, bachelor of surgery (MBBS), bachelor of dental surgery (BDS), doctor of physical therapy (DPT), medical laboratory technicians (MLT) and nursing graduates attended the event along with their parents and family members.

Former surgeon general Lt Gen Nigar Johar Khan was the chief guest. Other notables who attended the event included the registrar of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University Dr Maqbool Hussain, academics, intellectuals, corporate and journalists.

Ms Johar presented medals to the best graduates and acknowledged efforts of IMDC to impart high quality medical education along with advising graduates to uphold the best professional ethics while practicing in the sacred field of medicine.

Parents of graduates also attended the convocation in a large number. IMDC’s Chairman Dr Ghulam Akbar Khan Niazi said that the college was following its motto of “providing a base to serve humanity,” and it will keep making significant contributions in the field of medical education and healthcare.
