KARACHI: At least 1,000 policemen would be deployed in Sukkur and Larkana divisions to carry out intelligence-based operations (IBOs) against kidnappers in riverine area.

This was stated by Sindh Inspector General of Police Ghulam Nabi Memon while chairing a meeting at his office on Wednesday. The meeting was held to review the situation in the riverine area.

“IBOs should be intensified and a daily report should be furnished to my office,” directed IGP Memon.

He asked the CIA police to not only take action against absconders/proclaimed offenders involved in kidnapping for ransom, but also carry out investigation of the cases as well.

SSPs of Ghotki, Kashmore and Shikarpur were directed to give comprehensive briefing about kidnapping for ransom cases.

All senior officials of the Sindh police attended the meeting.
