KARACHI, Jan 13: City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal has said that Karachiites will start getting another 100 million gallons of water per day from March 31.

He was speaking during his visit to the site of K-3 water project near Gulshan-i-Maymar on the second day of Eid. He also distributed “eidi” among more than 100 workers laying K-3 water pipeline in Lyari river between North Karachi and Gulshan-i-Maymar. Managing Director and other officials of the KWSB were also present.

He appreciated workers for their dedication and said despite Eid holidays, they were on the job to complete the project ahead of schedule.

He said workers of such a mega project observe 10 to 15 days holidays on Eid, but they have observed only a 10-hour break.

“This gives me confidence that the project will be completed by March 31. We will celebrate Eid when Karachiittes get 100 MGD more water”, he observed.—APP
