Man killed in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Gunmen killed a man and injured two people, including a transgender person, near Khatako Pul area here late on Sunday.

The Chakmani police said the three came under attack as they were returning from a music function in the Urmar area.

They said they had registered an FIR, which named three people as suspected gunmen.

Rafaqat, an official at the Chamkani police station, told Dawn that the firing victims had heated exchanges with the accused during the music function.

He said an injured person, Sangeen, died in the hospital.

The official said Kamran lodged a case against three men, who were at large.

He said the police had begun a search for them.
