STUDENT-FRIENDLY LIBRARY: Hyderabad, the second biggest city in Sindh with a population of approximately 1.78 million, does not have a student-friendly library. The two functional libraries do not provide quality environment to the students. They have insufficient seating capacity, water scarcity and unclean washrooms. Besides, loadshedding is a constant problem across the summer season. The city is in a dire need of a big and well-equipped library where students may study in peace.

JACOBABAD WATER CRISIS: A population of 165,694 in Jacobabad is suffering from a serious water shortage. The locals have to purchase water, which is brought to their homes on donkey carts from the hand-pumps that are located in the suburbs. The underground water is brackish and contaminated, but that happens to be the only water available to the residents. The government must look into this issue urgently.

EDUCATION IN DERA BUGTI: Dera Bugti district has four gas and oil fields, but the government has neglected it time and again. MAINTAINING EQUIPMENT: The availability and maintenance of fire extinguishing equipment is essential in all public places, including hospitals. The equipment at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) in Karachi visibly needs some urgent attention. During a visit there, I witnessed that the equipment was in a rather shabby condition. The hospital administration would do well to pay attention to the matter without delay.
