TOBA TEK SINGH: Police registered on Wednesday a case against “one Hamid Raza”, allegedly for attempting to propagate hatred against the security forces of Pakistan through a video clip uploaded on social media.

Complainant Muhammad Rehan, of Chak 95-JB, alleged in the FIR lodged with Saddar police that the views expressed by the suspect, Hamid Raza, in a video clip uploaded on social media hurt his feelings as he loved the security forces.

On the complaint, the police registered a case against the suspect under sections 109, 501, 505-1(C) and 505(2) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and sections 4, 5, 11, 16, 20 and 22 of the Prevention of Cyber Crimes Act 2016.

Interestingly, the FIR neither mentions the suspect’s father’s name, nor his address or his party.

The station station house officer (SHO) concerned, Khadim Hussain, and Investigation Officer Muhammad Zahid, also expressed their ignorance about the whereabouts of the suspect.

When this correspondent tried to contact the complainant, his mobile phone was found switched off.

According to sources, Hamid Raza is central chief of the Pakistan Sunni Ittehad Council and son of late religious scholar and former federal minister Sahibzada Fazal Karim of Faisalabad, who runs his channel on YouTube where he critcises security forces.
