HARIPUR: Two people were killed and four injured in two road accidents in Haripur city on Tuesday.

The police said a man, Hammad Saleem, was killed and his two friends, including Manzar Ali and Malik Zaman, suffered critical injuries after a speeding car hit the motorcycle they rode on the GT Road in front of the Judicial Complex.

Car driver Zulfiqar Ahmad was also injured. The deceased and the injured were shifted to the Haripur Trauma Centre, whose doctors declared the condition of the two injured to be critical.

Also, a pedestrian was run over and killed by a speeding van on the GT Road near Mohra Kalanwan village of Serae Saleh area.

The driver sped away in the van.

The police identified the deceased as Mohammad Ashraf, who, they said, had the accident while crossing the road.

They said a search for the driver was under way.
