PESHAWAR: Owners of oil tankers staged a protest demonstration here on Thursday against the sealing of their association office in Taru Jabba by the Nowshera district administration and warned to stop oil supply in case the office was not opened.

Holding banners and placards inscribed with their demands, the association members shouted slogans against the administration.

Speaking on the occasion All Pakistan Oil Tankers Owners Association president Shafi Marwat said they were taxpayers and had done nothing wrong, but the administration was creating problems for them.

Haji Mohammad Ayub, Haji Ehsan Ali and other office bearers of the association also shared their views and said they were already registered with the NIRC and all the record was produced before the relevant officials, but even then their office was sealed.

“We conveyed our grievances to the governor who ordered the administration to unseal the association office but to no avail,” he claimed and demanded of the provincial government to take notice of the action against goods transporters.
