KARACHI: Iranian Navy ships and submarine visited the Karachi Port recently and participated in a naval exercise with the Pakistan Navy (PN).

Upon their arrival at the port, PN officials, along with Iranian consulate staff, welcomed the visiting flotilla. The national anthems of the two countries were played on the occasion, a statement by the PN said.

The visit of the Iranian Navy to Pakistan reaffirmed joint efforts to promote regional stability and maritime security for protection of the sea lines of communication and seafarers in the region.

During their stay at the port, both navies held mutually rewarding professional interactions, exchange visits and top discussions on matters of mutual interests.

Upon culmination of the visit, a passage exercise was also conducted.
