LAHORE: To advertise the commencement of this year’s Asian Games being held in Hangzhou, China, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) will hold some build-up events in Lahore on Feb 20.

A special delegation of the organising committee of the Sept 23-Oct 8 Asian Games would also be in Lahore to hold the event, Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) secretary Khalid Mahmood said while talking to reporters here on Thursday.

According to the POA secretary, one-, two-, three- and five-kilometre races would be held in which men, women, students and families would be allowed to take part.

He said the exhibition competitions in six different disciplines would also be staged on Feb 20 at the DHA Sports Complex.

The 19th Asian Games were scheduled to be held in 2022 but were postponed due to Covid-19 pandemic.
