TOBA TEK SINGH: Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Director General Dr Muhammad Zahid Ikram warned that no housing scheme should be established in the prohibited zone and said concrete departmental strategy was being followed for getting the land use rules implemented in letter and spirit.

He was inspecting the prohibited zone on Narwala Road on Thursday. He also visited Chak 58-JB and Chak 61-JB and checked the zone plan. He expressed his displeasure over some constructions for establishing illegal housing schemes and directed that the structures of illegal housing schemes in prohibited areas within the jurisdiction of the FDA be completely removed and legal action be taken against the violators.

He stressed carrying out effective and regular monitoring to check the enforcement of land use rules and warned that any negligence, lethargy, irresponsibility, or convenience would not be tolerated, and departmental actions would be taken against the staff having poor performance in this regard.

He requested that land developers obtain complete information about the zoning plan before planning housing schemes and that no housing scheme be planned in a prohibited zone because such a scheme could not be approved.

He sensitised the general public about investment in real estate and said that the legal status of any housing scheme is checked before purchasing plots to avoid any fraud.

CROSSFIRE: In a crossfire between two groups over a dispute over the marriage of a girl, a man was killed and another injured critically on Thursday at Kamalia in Chak Bohaat Kalia.

The Kamalia Saddar police said Azhar Irshad died instantly while other group’s Salman Bashir, who received a bullet was rushed to Kamalia THQ hospital where doctors referred him to the DHQ Hospital.

PASS OUT: Four people of a family became unconscious after eating poisonous rice at home in Faisalabad’s Chak Jhumra locality of Mubarakabad on Thursday.

Rescue 1122 shifted them to the Chak Jhumra THQ hospital where Naveed, his wife Lubna, son Abdullah and daughter Dua Fatima were being treated.

Police have taken into custody the leftover of the food and utensils for the probe.

NOTICES: Faisalabad DC Imran Hamid Sheikh issued notices on Thursday to 13 price magistrates in Faisalabad city for failing to control the overcharging on the sale of commodities by the shopkeepers.

Assistant commissioners pointed out to the DC the names of poor-performing magistrates.

They included Shahbaz Latif, Irfan Riasat, Sajida Latif, Ghulam Dastagir, Ijaz Latif, Kashif Habib, Dr Khalid Iqbal,Rana Sajid,Khalid Mahmood, Saeed Ahmad, Izharul Haq, Amjad Ali and Kamran Raza.
