Intercollegiate games from 22nd

LAHORE: Men’s and women’s intercollegiate games will take place from Jan 22 to 26 at the tehsil level, while inter-division games will take place from Feb 1 to 6.

This was said at a meeting on Friday by Tariq Qureshi, director general of the Punjab Sports Board. He stated efforts were being made to ensure the success of the games by the Punjab Higher Education Department and the sports board.

For the games, he stated that the sports board will offer venues and technical staff. Athletics, badminton, cricket, football, hockey, kabaddi, volleyball, and wrestling will include male participants, while badminton, cricket, hockey, and volleyball will feature female competitors.

Moreover, trials and registration of U-16 boys and girls athletes under Talent Hunt Programme (Olympic Dream) were also reviewed in detail during the meeting.

He said that the trials of Under 16 boys and girls from different schools will be completed at the division level by Jan 31.

“The trials of U-16 boys and girls will be taken in athletics, football, gymnastics, martial arts, boxing, wrestling, archery, badminton, table tennis, cricket, volleyball, hockey and handball,” he said.
