CHARSADDA: Two proclaimed offenders were killed in an encounter with police in Ghandkarkna area in the limits of Sardheri police station here.

Basit alias Baste and Farhan were wanted to Prang and Sardheri police in several cases of murder, according to a police statement issued here on Sunday. It said other accomplices of the outlaws managed to escape.

Meanwhile, unknown thieves stole cash, 15 tola gold jewellery, 15 watches, Saudi riyal and UAE dirham from a house in Rajar Mohammadzai area in jurisdiction of Charsadda city police station.

Syed Jan, the house owner, got registered a report with the city police, stating he had gone to Kaladher area with his family, and when they returned, they found locks of their house broken. He said thieves had decamped with 15 tola gold, five gold rings and other valuable items.

COMMUTERS FACE PROBLEMS: Passengers faced difficulties due to lack of public transport as the government decided to close the CNG stations to ensure uninterrupted gas supply to domestic consumers.

However, the consumers also complained about facing gas loadshedding despite closure of CNG stations on Sunday.

People, particularly government employees, tried to leave for their work stations on Sunday, but they had to wait for long on the roads and bus stands due to lack of public transport.

The passengers said the transporters had increased the fares, arguing they were forced to use petrol after the closure of CNG stations.
