KOHAT: The elder of Banoori tribe, Pir Rafiullah Shah Banoori, was found killed in his office under mysterious circumstances on Friday.

SHO city said Basit Banoori, son of Rafiullah Banoori, filed the FIR after which they went to their hujra where his body was found cut from chest to belly with a dagger.

The body was taken to the KDA hospital for post-mortem and then handed over to the relatives for burial.

Basit said his father would give amulets like his forefathers to people. He said they had no enmity with anyone.

The police said they had detained the caretaker of the hujra, Ahmed Baksh, who was being interrogated.

However, the family declared him as innocent, saying he was deranged and serving them for decades.
