NAROWAL: A foul stench emanating from rubbish piles has blanketed the entire city.

The inefficiency of the Narowal Municipal Committee generated concern among the population, as diseases have begun to spread. In areas such as Islampura Community Park, Khawajgan, Jilani Colony, Christian Colony and Loharan neighbourhood, waste has also become a breeding ground for flies, mosquitoes, and other insects.

Visitors enter the community park after passing by the park’s abandoned waste piles in front of the main gate.

Citizens Abdul Ghaffar and Mohammad Naeem Khan said that the Narowal Municipal Committee staff had failed to remove the waste pile in the previous five days. They requested that the rubbish be removed multiple times, but in vain.

Locals Muneebur Rehman and Farman Ali claimed that the municipal committee was negligent in cleaning up Narowal. They claimed that the odour, flies, and mosquitoes caused by the rubbish piles were making residents sick.

Rehan Salim, the municipal committee’s head officer, could not be reached for comment. Locals urged Chief Minister Parvez Elahi to address the problem right away. They said that maintaining Circular Road is the district administration’s only priority.
