A hawker was crushed to death by a bus at the general bus stand in Faisalabad on Sunday. Civil Lines police said Muhammad Rafique, 52, was helping passengers board a bus when suddenly the driver moved the vehicle and Rafique was run over by it. He was rushed to the DHQ hospital where he died of his wounds.

DISGRACED AND FILMED: The Faisalabad city police officer (CPO) has taken notice of a video that has gone viral on social media showing a man’s hair and eyebrows being shaved, and stripping him and his brother after their alleged kidnapping by two brothers and their 20 accomplices.

CPO Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani directed Batala Colony police to immediately arrest the suspects.

Muhammad Yaseen and Muhammad Yameen of Faisalabad’s Samundri Road told police that brothers Babar and Sajid, owners of a beverage company agency, had been forcing them to sell their house to them, but they kept rejecting the offer. The suspects and their 20 accomplices barged into their house on Sunday, tortured women and children and kidnapped both the brothers. They were bundled into a mini truck and taken to the suspect’s agency where they were severally tortured and their objectionable video recorded after shaving off Yaseen’s hair and eyebrows. The suspects then posted the video online that went viral.

Both the victims were admitted to the DHQ hospital, while police arrested a few of the suspects and raids were being conducted to catch the remaining.
