THATTA: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has lashed out at the exponents of new provinces and warned that those who are talking about bifurcation of Sindh will have to face dire consequences.

“No one has any right to even think about forming new provinces or administrative units,” said Murad at an event organised by influential Sheerazi family to mark the second death anniversary of their elder, Syed Aijaz Shah Sheerazi, here on Saturday.

He said that around two million houses were being constructed in calamity-hit areas of the province for which the government had sought help from World Bank and other international organisations. It was an initiative for the rehabilitation of flood-hit population, he said.

He said that people were being fooled through rumours about dissolution of assemblies but they would not let it happen. There was no room for any undemocratic move as elections were going to be held within prescribed period, he said.

He deplored the political approach of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and its chief Imran Khan and said that Imran was demanding elections at a time when the country was trying to recover from the massive destruction wrought by recent floods. People of Pakistan would wipe out PTI from political horizon of the country, he said.
