TAXILA: City Police Officer (CPO) Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari on Tuesday suspended Wah Saddar SHO and demoted him after he was found guilty of corruption, misuse of power and poor performance.

He was directed to report to the District Police Lines with immediate effect.

According to the district police spokesman, SI Mohammad Afzal was found guilty of corruption, misuse of power and poor performance in a departmental inquiry and was subsequently suspended, demoted to the rank of assistant sub-inspector and directed to report to district police lines with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, Taxila and Wah continued to report criminal activities, especially in the residential areas where people were deprived of cash and valuables.

In back-to-back robberies, three robbers deprived a family of cash and valuables worth millions of rupees during a robbery in the limits of Wah Cantonment police station in the early hours of Tuesday.

Separately, in Taxila police station limits, burglars broke into the house of Kashif Hafeez and fled with looted items including cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs1.6 million. In the same locality, three robbers posing as customers entered a superstore and looted cash mobile phones from the owner and customers.
