BAHAWALPUR: Punjab Governor Baleeghur Rehman claims that the federal government has improved the financial conditions and averted the country’s default.

At a media talk here on Monday, the governor said the change in the Punjab government was not a difficult task for the federal government and his party.

However, he said as the PML-N believes in democratic values and traditions, any immediate step to change the Punjab government has not been taken.

Criticising the three-year rule of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, the governor said the slogan of ‘change’ proved an utter failure; instead mismanagement had been the order of the day in all sectors. This added to the sufferings of commoners in all parts of the country.

There was also increase in the number of drop-out children from government schools. Regarding the change in command in the Pakistan army, the governor expressed satisfaction that it took place smoothly although attempts were made to make it controversial.

Later, the governor inaugurated the [exam] centre for competitive examinations and Faiz Adabi Mela at Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB).

The functions were addressed by the governor, IUB Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Athar Mehboob and south Punjab Education Secretary Dr Ehtesham Anwar Mahar.
