MANSEHRA: A young boy was killed during a robbery attempt in a house, while body of an alleged drug peddler was found in Dodial area here on Friday night, the police said.

SSP investigations Hafiz Janas Khan said that the boy was killed by robbers when he put up resistance. “The police have started efforts to trace the robbers,” he told reporters after visiting the house of the victim, Mohammad Bilal.

SSP Janas Khan said that the robbers made their entry to the house of an Afghan national and decamped with valuables, cash and other valuables.

He said one of the robbers returned to collect some goods.

In the meantime, Bilal raised an alarm and put up resistance, and a scuffle between him and the robber followed, the police officer said, adding this forced the robber to shoot at him. He said that the shot killed the boy on the spot.

Separately, a drug peddler identified as Mohammad Zulfiqar was found lying in pool of blood in the same Dodial locality. He was wanted by the Baffa police.

The police have started investigation into as to how the slain had moved to Dodial from Baffa area.

“Our record shows that the slain was wanted by the police in narcotics peddling,” an official of the Baffa police told reporters.

Meanwhile, the central traders’ body in Mansehra, at a meeting on Saturday, condemned the rising incidents of robberies in the city and its suburbs.
