NAROWAL: Three people were killed and as many injured in firing by their rivals here on Wednesday in Majran Kalan area of Sambrial tehsil.

Reports said six people, including passers-by, were injured in firing. Three of them - Muhammad Saim (20), Baqir Shah (50) and Malik Afzal (40) - succumbed to their injuries on the spot whereas Muhammad Siddique (20), Azan (15) and Saram (19) were shifted to hospital by locals.

District Police Officer Sialkot Muhammad Faisal Kamran visited the crime scene and formed raiding teams, led by Sambrial DSP Rana Muhammad Jameel.

Eyewitnesses Ibrahim and Tariq Mehmood said after the firing, the suspects brandishing weapons fled the scene by a white car.

District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Sialkot Naveed Iqbal said rescuers reached the spot on the information of the firing and found the injured already shifted to hospital.

Naveed Iqbal said: “The injured are neither at Sambrial THQ hospital nor at Sialkot DHQ hospital.”

The DPO said the injured were discharged from Sialkot DHQ hospital after first aid. He said many FIRs [first information reports] had been registered with Majran Kalan police against both groups.
