LAHORE: The Kot Lakhpat police claimed on Tuesday to have arrested a suspect who had allegedly burnt a girl to death for refusing to marry him.

A police official said Khurram wanted to marry his relative Kiran (22) but her parents turned down the proposal.

A day before her death, he said, Khurram threw petrol on Kiran, set him ablaze and fled.

She was rushed to hospital where she expired on Tuesday, he said, adding that police teams already working on the case managed to arrest him.

Police registered a case against suspect.
