SARGODHA: The Syndicate of the University of Sargodha has approved budget for the fiscal year 2022-23.

The Syndicate also approved increment in the salaries of the university employees as per the decision of the Punjab government.

The meeting was chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Qaiser Abbas.

Registrar Waqar Ahmad presented the agenda of the meeting, while VC Abbas briefed the House about the educational and research achievements of the university. Syndicate members appreciated the progress of the varsity on the academic as well as administrative fronts under the dynamic leadership of Prof Abbas.

On the recommendations of the finance and planning committee of the University of Sargodha, the Syndicate approved a 15 per cent increase in the salaries of university employees. The house also approved the pending 25pc disparity reduction allowance for the employees of BS-1 to 19 subject to an approval by the governor/chancellor. It also approved recommendations of the selection board regarding appointment of faculty members.

The syndicate, on the recommendation of the Academic Council, also restored the departments of Punjabi, Persian and Arabic, which were merged with other departments previously.
