DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Police have registered a case against unidentified persons for the Monday’s attack on the house of MPA Aghaz Khan Gandapur.

A constable was martyred in the attack. The FIR was registered on the complaint of Kulachi tehsil chairman Sardar Araiz Khan Gandapur, the younger brother of the MPA.

On Monday night, two armed motorcyclists had opened fire on the house of the lawmaker. Constable Saifur Rehman, deployed at the gate of the house, was killed in the attack.

The funeral prayer of the martyred police constable, a resident of Hathala, was offered with official honour at Ejaz Shaheed Police Lines in Dera Ismail Khan. Senior police officers attended the funeral prayers.

He was laid to rest in his native village Hathala.

FLOOD VICTIMS: The flood victims of Meeran village in Prova tehsil have alleged that the teams formed for the damage assessment survey are insulting the affected people.

The district administration has formed teams in different areas to assess the damage caused by the recent floods and register the affected families.

Abdul Rehman, Javed, Mohammad Rafiq, Amanullah, Irfan, Azizullah, Munir Ahmed and other residents of Meeran village told this scribe that the survey teams were treating the flood victims harshly.

They alleged that the attitude of a member of the survey team was derogatory. They said he selected people of his choice for official assistance and rejected many genuine victims.

They said that the locals were protesting against his attitude and had also formally informed the district administration about it.

They said that all the residents of the village were sceptical about the transparency of the survey conducted by the specific member of the team.

They appealed to tehsildar, assistant commissioner, deputy commissioner and relevant authorities to stop the teams from insulting them.
