MUZAFFARGARH: A couple was killed in the name of honour at a Head Mohammadwala hotel here on Saturday.

Amir opened fire on his sister and her husband Abdullah Nizami, a journalist from Layyah, who allegedly married against his (Amir’s) will a few days ago. Both of them died on the spot.

Sources said Niazami worked for a local TV channel and was also president of the press club. He contracted love marriage with the girl, which angered her brother.

Punjab IGP Faisal Shahkar and Additional IGP South Punjab Dr Ehsan Sadiq took notice of the incident. The IGP sought a report from the DG Khan RPO on the incident.
