THATTA: Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sadiq Memon has assured people of Thatta district that everything is well under control and the situation is not as threatening as it was in 2010 super flood. He advised them to avoid spreading and listening to rumours.

He said during a visit to different areas along FP dyke along with officials of revenue and irrigation departments on Friday that revenue authorities should identify sensitive spots along all protective dykes in the district and immediately start work on their pitching and paving with stones.

He asked them to conduct round-the-clock patrolling of the dykes to avert any threat to the structures. No amount of negligence on the part of officials concerned would be tolerated at any cost, he warned.

Later, he visited relief camps set up in Gharo and Dhabeji towns for flood victims of Larkana and Dadu districts and urged authorities to provide all basic facilities to the affected families.

He assured the flood-hit families that they would not be left alone and all their problems would be addressed on priority basis.

He said that everything was well under control and the situation was not as threatening as it was in 2010 super flood. Hence, people should avoid spreading and listening to rumours, he said.
