GWADAR: Personnel of the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) saved the life of an unconscious fisherman in a fishing boat, Safina-i-Waleed, in the sea near the port city on Sunday.

Officials said a call was received at the PMSA’s Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC), Gwadar, about the injured fisherman, Abid Ali, who fell on the boat’s deck sustaining severe chest injury.

The PMSA immediately dispatched its fast response boat with a medical team onboard. The PMSA boat swiftly reached the fishing boat and conducted medical evacuation operations. The fisherman was shifted to the PMSA boat in which he was provided necessary first aid by the medical team.

Upon reaching Gwadar fish harbour, the fisherman was shifted in a PMSA ambulance to GDA Hospital for further medical examination and treatment.

Timely intervention by the PMSA saved a precious life, affirming its role as a protector of the fishermen community.
