BAHAWALPUR: The first All Pakistan Badminton Ranking Tournament 2022 is being organised by the Pakistan Badminton Federation (PBF) with the support of the Pakistan Army in Bahawalpur.

An impressive inauguration ceremony was held at Garrison Sports Club Bahawalpur to officially start the championship on Saturday.

A total of 164 players (119 men & 45 women) and 12 officials from national departments and provincial players from respective divisions are participating in the event.

The event is divided into three categories, three rounds and similarly, three finals. Amongst three categories, the winners of the 48 matches of the day, including men and women, would compete in quarter-finals to be followed by semi-finals and grand finale. A cash prize worth Rs1.5 m will be awarded to the winning players.

Apart from the matches, the Badminton Day would be marked on July 5 during the tournament. This tournament is an initiative to promote talent for less played games like badminton.
