ISLAMABAD: Taking notice of the difficulties being faced by pensioners in getting their pensions, Federal Ombudsman Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi on Tuesday directed all ministries, corporations and subordinate departments to establish cells in their organisations for the facilitation of retired employees in getting their benefits.

The ombudsman issued these directives while chairing a meeting of a monitoring committee at his office on Tuesday.

“Ministries, corporations, agencies which deal with thousands of pensioners should ensure functional pension desks are established and manned by trained staff and supervised by a senior officer. They should facilitate the processing of pension cases and save the old pensioners, widows and orphans from delays in release of their post-retirement benefits and pensions.”
