RAWALPINDI: The City Traffic Police have issued a traffic plan for 11 cattle markets ahead of Eidul Adha with 117 traffic police personnel deployed to facilitate the public.

Police spokesman said Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Naveed Irshad had issued directions for chalking out a traffic plan to facilitate people visiting 11 cattle markets in Rawalpindi district.

The markets will be established in Bhatta Chowk near Koh-i-Noor Mills, Chakri Road near Al-Haram City, Punjab Cooperative Housing Society Adiala Road, Galyana Road Near Slaughter House Gujar Khan, Mangal Chowk Near Klar Bypass, Tangi Road Near Chen Shah Jaliar Khota, Chor Bazaar Near Rescue 1122 Kotli Sattian, near Itwaar Bazar Timber Market Road Taxila, Sharif Hospital Stop G.T. Road Wah Cantt, Tehsil Road Lower Bazaar Koh-i-Murree and Jhika Gali Koh-i-Murree.

As many as 117 traffic police personnel, including five DSPs, 18 inspectors, 88 traffic wardens and six traffic assistants, will be deployed in different spots whereas four lifters will be on hand to remove wrongly-parked vehicles, the spokesman said.

CTO Naveed Irshad said citizens should also cooperate with the traffic police and avoid parking animals or vehicles on main highways so that the rest of the road users do not face any problems.

Additionally, he said all traffic officials must perform their duties diligently and responsibly within the available resources on these important days. “Negligence would not be accepted in this situation,” said the CTO.
