KARACHI: Two killed in road accidents

KARACHI, Dec 11: Two men died in separate road accidents in different parts of the city on Sunday. An elderly man died in a road accident in the Mochko area. Police said 65-year-old Ameer Khan was crossing a road in Ittehad Town when a speeding car knocked him down. The errant driver escaped, leaving the car on the spot. The victim died before he could be taken to hospital, police said. The victim was resident of Itthad Town.

In another incident described by police as hit-and-run accident, a 55-year-old man died in Liaquatabad.

Police said the victim, identified as Hasan, was crossing the main road in the limits of Super Market police station where he was hit by a speeding vehicle. The victim died on the spot. Following the legal formalities, the body was handed over to the Edhi Welfare Trust, police said.
