The police said the wounded men had a minor dispute with the attackers. They said the attackers also opened fire at the hujra, but no one was hurt.

They said both the injured were shifted to the Government City Hospital, adding one of the attackers – Rashid Khan – was later arrested. A case was registered against them.

Meanwhile, the district administration removed encroachments along the Tajazai-Darra Tang Road in Lakki city on Tuesday.

The operation was launched on the directives of deputy commissioner Iqbal Hussain Bacha, an official said. He said land grabbers and traders had occupied roadsides for carrying out business activities.

Some small traders had also established kiosks and makeshift outlets on the sewerage line, he maintained. Heavy machinery was used to raze structures in Graban, Lorry Adda, Michenkhel and Saeekhel localities.
