MANSEHRA: Heavy landslides blocked the Oghi-Darband Road linking Mansehra with the neighbouring Torghar district for hours on Friday.

“Landslides detached from a mountain fell on the road in Dogai area of Oghi, blocking the artery to traffic,” Munawar Shah, a passerby, told reporters.

The blocked portion of the road took hours to be cleared, forming long queues of passenger vehicles on both sides of the artery.

“There was no loss of life as no vehicle was on the stretch of the road when heavy mass of land fell on it,” Mr Shah said.

The road was cleared to traffic after a local contractor working at a nearby bridge moved his machinery there and removed landslides.
