HARIPUR: Two people were shot dead in separate incidents here, the police said on Monday.

The police said gunmen killed Ali Aksar, 45, in his Karwala village house and fled.

They also said Zeeshan, 26, was killed in Rani Wah village of Khanpur area by local gunmen Amir and Nisar over a monetary dispute.

The police said the attackers fled and were at large.

Meanwhile, former PTI district president Azam Khan Tareen on Monday demanded of the government to build an airport in Haripur.

He told reporters on Monday that Haripur was among the few largest revenue generating districts in the country, so it deserved to have an airport .

Mr Tareen also complained about high unemployment rate in the district and demanded of the government to fulfil its constitutional responsibility of providing the residents with livelihood opportunities.

He complained that many patients from the area were referred to the Ayub Medical Complex, Abbottabad, and health facilities in other cities due to a lack of the required services.

He called for the early upgradation of public sector health facilities in the district.
