MARDAN: Water and Sanitation Services Company, Mardan, has won the best company award in solid waste management for the year 2021.

Relevant officials told Dawn here on Sunday that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Dr Shehzad Bangash had presented the award to the company’s chief executive officer Eng Amir Khan during a special ceremony held in Abbottabad.

Chief Commissioner Right to Public Services Commission Mohammad Saleem Khan, who was also present on the occasion, had ranked the Mardan sanitation firm first in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for safe disposal of waste.

Eng Amir Khan, while congratulating the entire team of the company on receiving the award, said the company had secured the first position in the province for the fourth consecutive time due to better teamwork. He said that if the cooperation of the citizens continued the Mardan city would be made a role model for the entire country in safe disposal of garbage.
