MARDAN: The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) of the Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan, hosted a two-day teacher training workshop on the Higher Education Commission’s Undergraduate Education Policy, 2020, on campus.

The event was organised by the HEC in collaboration with the provincial higher education department.

The training workshop was attended by a total of 110 faculty members from various colleges of Mardan and Nowshera.

HEC representatives Dr Syed Zulfiqar Gilani and Dr Arshad Bashir highlighted the Undergraduate Education Policy and the status of its implementation.

According to them, the policy provides the framework for enhancing the competencies (knowledge, skills, professional behaviour, and personal attributes) of graduates and is meant to raise the quality of undergraduate education to international standards to help graduates succeed in life.

During the workshop, question and answer sessions were also conducted, while participants commented on the policy and made recommendations.

AWKUM Vice-Chancellor Prof Zahoorul Haq was the chief guest in the concluding ceremony.

He appreciated the HEC and HED for holding the training workshop on its Undergraduate Education Policy and said it helped teachers develop better understanding of the policy and ensure its effective implementation.

The vice-chancellor said the Abdul Wali Khan University had already taken effective steps to enforce the education policy on campus to improve the quality of undergraduate education to the benefit of students.

At the end, certificates were distributed among participants of the workshop.
