KARACHI: Karachi administrator Barrister Murtaz Wahab on Saturday inaugurated a family park in Clifton, next to the Ziauddin University, which includes state-of-the-art tennis courts, a well-maintained gym, a long walking track, futsal and football ground with a dedicated area for cricket and basketball court, and a play area for children, said a statement.

“I’m really happy that the area that was destroyed and a lot of people tried to forcibly occupy the area, but Dr Asim Hussain requested KMC to give this area to corporate social responsibility so that Ziauddin University can take the initiative to transform this area into a beautiful park…” said the administrator while addressing the inauguration ceremony.

“I’m glad Dr Asim Hussain kept his commitment to the KMC, and I’m grateful to him for cooperating with the KMC and gifting this beautiful park to the neighborhood. After seeing the parks and their amenities, I’m delighted that an international quality tartan track will be built shortly.”

Calling it a pleasure and honour for him to contribute to the development of the park, Ziauddin University Chancellor Dr Asim Hussain said that after adoption of this park by the KMC, efforts were put in by his university and hospital under the corporate social responsibility.
