GUJRANWALA: Twelve passengers, six women among them, were killed and eight others injured when two vans collided with an approaching dumper truck near Kot Ladha on Hafizabad Road here on Friday.

Two passenger vans which were coming from Sargodha to Gujranwala collided with a dumper truck as a result of which 12 people were killed.

Rescue 1122 teams reached the spot and shifted one dead body and eight injured to Hafizabad civil hospital and 11 bodies were shifted to the DHQ Hospital of Gujranwala. Those who lost their lives included four-year-old Hareen, Munawar Bibi, Asma, Fozia, Haleema, Khalida, Aasia, Ilyas, Gulzar, Aslam and Irfan. Nine of them belonged to Rehmanpura.
