CHARSADDA: The doctors’ association, Charsadda, has demanded immediate transfer of medical superintendent Dr Jehan Zeb for merging the Mother and Childcare Hospital, Rajar, into the District Headquarter Hospital, and for his alleged rude behaviour with the staff, patients and attendants.

Addressing a press conference, the association’s president Dr Israr and senior vice-president Dr Shahid Ayub termed the merger of Pakistan’s second largest mother and childcare hospital into the DHQ Hospital Charsadda as injustice with 2.2 million people of the district. The set a seven-day deadline to the government to transfer the MS or they would boycott duties and launch protest movement against his removal.

FLOUR PRICES INCREASES: Price of 20-kilogramme wheat flour bag has reached Rs1,400 as most of the flour mills in the district have been closed due to suspension of the government’s wheat quota.

In open market, the rate of 100kg flour bag has also increased from Rs5,700 to Rs6,300.

Traders said the rates would further increase if the wheat quota was not restored to the flour mills.

Morshad Ali, president of flour mills association, Charsadda, told mediapersons the other day that majority of the mills in the district had been closed, rendering workers jobless. He said flour price in private market was increasing with each passing day, which was directly affecting the poor people.

He predicted scarcity of wheat flour in the district if the situation continued. He demanded of the government to release wheat quota on urgent basis to cope with flour shortage.
