DOLLAR RATE: In a country where the US dollar is the lifeline of the economy, how can anyone plan or sustain anything in the face of its fluctuations? I am not aware of any country which has progressed without stabilising its currency. The government should fix the rupee-dollar parity value for at least three to five years. The dollar can be set at any amount, say Rs200, but all nonessential items should be banned and export rebate should be given on actual exports. I wish to see Pakistan standing on its own feet in my lifetime.

BUSINESS ETIQUETTES: The most important factor in the success of a business are business etiquettes. Sadly, there is an utter disregard for basic business etiquettes in our population, such as respecting deadlines and fulfilling commitments. Honesty is the backbone of a company on which the foundation of success lies. Many people are afraid to shop online because of the scammers. Our youth is motivated and talented. They just need proper guidance to conquer the world.

MOBILE LIBRARY: The district administration of Skardu plans to launch a one-of-a-kind mobile library, which is a much-needed initiative. Deprived of high-speed and uninterrupted internet connection, the locals cannot even read books online. The planned mobile library will do what the internet could not.

LOUDSPEAKER MENACE: Blaring loudspeakers have become an awful nuisance in cities. No celebration is considered complete if you do not keep the entire locality stay up late. And if you happen to live near restaurants, like I do, then you are in for round-the-clock trouble. With the food street right below our apartments, we have to deal with noise pollution right through the day; day after day and night after night. The authorities should ban any unnecessary use of loudspeakers in residential areas.
