CHARSADDA: Three picnickers from Peshawar drowned in the Munda River here on Sunday.

Local residents and Rescue 1122 officials said Qari Inayatullah, 35, his nephews – Talha 16, and Salman, 14, from Khajori locality of Peshawar – had come to Shabqadar for picnic. They said when one of them slipped into the river, the other two tried to rescue him, but they also drowned.

Rescue divers fished out the bodies, and shifted them to the District Headquarters Hospital, Shabqadar. Later, the bodies were dispatched to Peshawar after completion of medico-legal formalities.
