LAKKI MARWAT: The cantonment police claimed to have arrested an alleged killer hours after he shot dead a young man in Daud Shah area of Bannu on Tuesday.

They said that body of Hasan Khan killed with a firearm had been taken to the DHQ hospital for autopsy by area people.

They said that Zahir Khan told the cantonment police that his brother Hasan Khan received a call and then he took him to the residence of Abdul Malik on a motorcycle.

The complainant stated that later he learnt that the body of his brother was lying in the DHQ hospital. He nominated Abdul Malik in the preliminary report for the offence.

The police said they had arrested Malik and recovered an assault rifle, pistol and ammunition from him.

BAKERY SEALED: The Food Safety and Halal Food Authority sealed a bakery and discarded substandard cooking oil in Naurang town of Lakki Marwat on Tuesday.

Officials of the food authority examined cleanliness condition in and around business outlets during inspection visits to the bazaars.

During inspection, the officials caught workers of a bakery using non-food colours, substandard ghee and cooking oil in preparation of various items. They sealed the bakery and discarded around 100kg substandard oil.

DRIVE AGAINST DRUG ABUSE: Bannu police have displayed banners on police station buildings and at public places carrying pictures of suspected narcotics dealers.

An official said the banners had been displayed on the instructions of regional police officer Syed Ashfaq Anwar.

He said the display of banners would motivate the residents to observe a social boycott of alleged drug traffickers and lend a helping hand to police to tighten the noose around them.

In Lakki Marwat, the police arrested a suspect and seized a big quantity of hashish from him in Naurang town.

A police party headed by SHO Javed Khan arrested a suspect Karimullah near Dheri graveyard and recovered over 5.7 kilogrammes hashish from him. A case has been registered against him.
