HYDERABAD: A blind murder case was resolved with a woman confessing to have got her cousin, Ali Raza Arain, trapped with the help of her friend, Inspector Asad Nabi Khicchi, on April 14, Tando Allahyar SSP Farooq Bijarani told a press conference on Saturday.

Arain, a resident of Mirpurkhas, was found shot dead in fields along Tajpur-Nasarpur link road within the limits of the B-Section police. His father had lodged a murder case the next day.

The police had picked up several suspects and eventually arrested the woman, Tamseel Saleem Arain, a cousin of the victim.

According to the SSP, during investigation Tamseel claimed that Ali Raza Arain had been harassing her and she sought the help of her friend, Inspector Asad Nabi Khicchi, who is posted in Karachi.

She confessed that she had called Ali Raza to meet her in Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Tandojam, on April 14 and also called out Inspector Khichhi, who arrived in his car and two men with muffled faces joined them there. “When Ali Raza turned up on his motorcycle, we followed him,” she revealed, adding that the car hit Ali Raza’s motorcycle near Mono Technical College, Tandojam, and the muffled men got him into the car. “We drove towards Khisana Mori and, on the way, Inspector Khichhi dropped me near the university after which I returned to Qasimabad,” she said.

Inspector Khichhi called her on WhatsApp before Iftar and later met her in Qasimabad to tell her that Ali Raza had been killed, the SSP quoted the woman as saying.

A hunt was on for Inspector Khicchi and his two unknown associates, he added.
