DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The district administration on Friday banned pillion riding and display of weapons across Dera Ismail Khan district under section 144.

A notification issued by the district administration said that these restrictions had been imposed to avoid any sabotage activity.

According to the notification, there would be a complete ban on pillion riding and display of weapons in the district from April 22 to May 5, 2022.

A statement issued by a spokesperson of district police said that section 144 had been imposed in the entire district to protect the lives and property of the people in the face of threats by terrorist elements.

It said that Dera district police officer Najamul Hasnain Liaquat had appealed to all the citizens to cooperate with the police and show responsibility by following the restrictions.

He directed all police stations and officers to strictly enforce the restrictions.
