KARACHI: A model court on Saturday handed down death sentence to a man for murdering his wife and two children over a domestic dispute.

Muhammad Shadeed was found guilty of killing his wife Aneela, his daughter Bareera Fatima and son Abdul Hadi over a domestic dispute in Orangi Town on April 4, 2019.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Zeeshan Akhter Khan of the Model Criminal Trial Court (West) pronounced his verdict reserved after recording evidence and final arguments. The judge observed that the accused had committed murders of his own wife and two minor children, “thus no leniency should be shown to him”.

The court noted that the defence could not shatter the evidence of witnesses, who deposed that the accused murdered his wife and two small children due to his short-temper and dispute over matrimonial affairs.

State prosecutor Muhammad Arif Satai argued that the accused had committed heinous act of murder by slaughtering his wife and two minor children.
