THE Committee of Action of the All-India Muslim League at a meeting in New Delhi on Sunday [March 30] by a resolution strongly condemned the Government of the North-West Frontier Province for “creating circumstances in the Province which were bound to bring about a clash between the Red Shirts and other Muslims”. The Frontier Government … had adopted “such repressive methods in the Province against their political opponents” that normal political life had become impossible for the people and it was in protest against this that the Frontier Muslims were forces to resort to peaceful civil disobedience… . The Committee called upon the Muslims of the Province to keep their movement non-communal and non-violent… .

[The newspaper’s Peshawar correspondent adds,] The ever-rising tide of the virile Pathans’ peaceful campaign against the N-W.F.P. Congress Ministry’s suppression of people’s liberties rose to a further height yesterday [March 30] when huge processions, including one led by women, were taken out and mass meetings followed by numerous arrests were made.
